Woodruff Professor of English and Creative Writing at Emory University, Natasha Trethewey writes poetry as social action, from the intersections of living memory and political, cultural and social history. The recipient of a Pulitzer Prize and a fellowship from the Guggenheim Foundation, her work speaks to many scholarly themes including race relations, identity, social activism and cultural memory.
