ABOUT THE EVENT

The University Orchestra opens its season with works by Jean Sibelius, W.A. Mozart and Antonin Dvořák. The performance opens with Sibelius’s Andante Festivo, a lush work originally written for string quartet that showcases the full beauty of the strings. Mozart’s 29th symphony, composed around the time he turned 18, moves with youthful grace and vigor towards its galant conclusion. The program concludes with Dvořák’s Czech Suite, a piece inspired by traditional the Czech countryside and traditional dances, providing a dazzling and expressive finale to this concert.
